Progression of Sigma Cameras
Prepared 2014-03-31 by Bill Claff (revised 2017-02-25)
Sigma cameras are based on the Foveon sensor technology. The F7 and F13 were openly available whereas the F20 is used solely by Sigma.
The following chart groups the Sigma cameras by sensor.
Within each sensor there is a further grouping based on hints
in the camera data that might indicate different external hardware. In particular
the F7 and F13 required external Analog to Digital Conversion (ADC) hardware.
Cameras with no downstream ADC are indicated by a dotted border. These cameras
have only one real ISO setting, the others are simply conveyed in the metadata.
