Analysis of
Geometric Distortion 18-70mm versus 18-200mm
Prepared 2005-12-31 (146/46464) by Bill Claff
High zoom lenses such as the 18-200mm with it's 11.1x zoom
have a reputation for geometric distortion at either end of their zoom range.
I recently purchased an 18-200mm f/3.5-5.6 G ED-IF AF-S VR DX Zoom-Nikkor and
wanted to see how it compares with the 18-70mm f/3.5-4.5G ED-IF AF-S DX Zoom
Nikkor regarding geometric distortion.
I want to get these three images posted today and will append a couple more and
additional description shortly.
